RALEIGH, NC — NCAE today released the following statement in regards to the General Assembly’s newly released congressional maps:
“North Carolina's current congressional maps more accurately reflect the state's voting population and are consistent with voter registration records and statewide election results," said NCAE President Tamika Walker Kelly. "A predetermined 11-3 or 10-4 Republican advantage, without a transparent process or voter input, is unnecessary, un-American and unconstitutional.”
NCAE is the state's largest education advocacy organization for public school employees, representing active, student and retired members.
