Your Rights & Workplace

We need the working conditions to succeed now—and ensure the next generation of educators succeed in the future.
NCAE believes in taking collective action to ensure the collective good. When we raise our voices, we help every educator get the support they need to join, stay, and thrive in our profession.
We need and deserve fair salaries and benefits. We need and deserve safe workplaces that respect who we are and what we bring to our students. We need and deserve the right to demand change. Let’s redefine the workplace—together.

COVID-19 Resources

NCAE is here to ensure we rebuild schools with an emphasis on equity, return to the classroom safely, protect the most vulnerable students, and help educators navigate their rights and responsibilities amidst the COVID-19 crisis. NCAE's Lead Counsel and other experts detail your rights and protections as an educator during the pandemic.
President Tamika Walker Kelly
Together we are creating a future fueled by our members, worthy of our students, and essential to the entire state of North Carolina."

A leading voice for educational excellence

The North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) is our leading voice for educational excellence, for children and their families, and for the public schools they count on. As the public school employees union and the largest association of professional educators in North Carolina, our membership extends to all 100 counties and includes teachers, non-classified school staff, administrators, students, retirees, and community allies. NCAE believes that every child has a right to a high-quality education, an excellent teacher, and a well-funded school.
